PBLMSA - Required Reporting Dyslexia Info for 2018-2021

Act 1039 of 2017 Reporting by the School District (Ark. Code Ann. 6-41-606b)

During the 2018-2019, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021 school years, Pine Bluff Lighthouse Middle School Academy used the evidenced-base program from the Orton-Gillingham Based System: Barton Reading & Spelling System in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention

During the 2018-2019 school year, 40 students attending Pine Bluff Lighthouse Middle School Academy received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

During the 2019-2020 school year, 6 students attending Pine Bluff Lighthouse Middle School Academy are receiving dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

During the 2020-2021 school year, 6 students attending Pine Bluff Lighthouse Middle School Academy are receiving dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia

During the 2018-2019 school year, 88 students attending Pine Bluff Lighthouse Middle School Academy were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2019-2020 school year, 34 students attending Pine Bluff Lighthouse Middle School Academy have been identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2020-2021 school year, 14 students attending Pine Bluff Lighthouse Middle School Academy have been identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.
